Just traded my '16 Ranger XLS for another XLS. The '16 had 96k and didn't have one issue, and I regularly tow 3.2T and generally thrashed the shit out of it. Over a 3 year chattel mortgage with an $18k payout Ford gave me $29k trade which I though was pretty good value. AAA+ will bang again

was actually around $13k, - I know how changeover works too champ...

what I found interesting as I shopped the price Cardiff ford offered to Parramatta Ford where I got the first one (my Boss knows Nick Politis) and they couldn't match the Cardiff offer

Chevrolet Thailand has closed for 3 weeks so I expect Colorado sales must be well down as well.

Not that surprising really, they've been living on reputation for so long. Heaps of better options thesedays, i'm a little surprised they sell as many as they do now...
The older i get, the better i was...

IMHO Rio and BHP sites. I actually don't see many private ones so it must all be fleet. Lots of Rangers and Tritons are private which must be making Ford and Mitsu a pretty penny.

Neighbour up the road has the latest one. It's about his 4th in 10 years, he trades them in and updates every few years.

When i asked why he just said "They're reliable".

Me - "Have you ever driven an Amarok, Ranger or anything else"

                    "Nope".

                    Ok then.....

My employer has tried all of them in the last 7-8 years and have gone back to a fleet of Hilux's.

I had a similar chat with a work colleague a few years back. He was also onto his 4th Hilux and passed them down to his sons. I asked him about the now current one and he said no, would look at the Amarock simply because Toyota had priced themselves out of the private market, that is, "They want too much for it and the 'Roc is cheaper with more stuff, no has a broken one either".

Nah Cardiff can probably sell a used ranger easier then they can in Parramatta. Or the sales manager put his balls on the line.

Different areas have different demands, especially with used vehicles.
For us, used dual cab utes get a bigger buy price from a regional wholesaler then a Sydney one.
Range rover/BMW/ Audi etc. would be the complete opposite.

For the budget minded here's a comparo between the new Musso and LDV. 7 year warranty and roadside assist plus capped price servicing on the Musso should give some piece of mind.
Also Ateco not being the importer but importing themselves.

Would they reliably last 7 years? And will the warranty hold up? Can't help but base them on previous Chinese crap.
at the same time, as someone's who is looking at another dual-cab as a 3rd car, that will spend its entire life outside, and most likely physically neglected,
racking one up on cheap 7 year finance with 7 year warranty and capped-servicing seems tempting, even with the assumption it'll be worth $2/thrown away at the end of the 7 years then rinse and repeat.

Or is it going to rust away after 5 and explode the bottom end only to be told by the manufacturer to get fucked?
