gut feeling? the wanker is some rich bastards' dug-addicted son with a childhood ADHD syndrome... he'll rock up to court in a new suit, dad will provide the lawyer to keep his name out of the press and the little snot will do 30 days home detention so he can continue to play nintendo/PS2, sms his mates for drugs, beat up his girlfriend and abuse his step-mother for no good reason.

They do that to livestock, he hasn't proven himself more evolved so therefore. Besides which it's likely a generational thing, might as well start chlorinating.

The 'I had a tough life' thing is hard to sell. I had an atrocious childhood, and it's made it hard for me to integrate into society (I actually have complete contempt for most things) and keep a job for an extended period of time, but I've _never_ wanted to take out my frustrations over what happened to me on other people or their property. I dare say that anyone else similarly mistreated as a child (genuinely) would be in the same boat, and I honestly call into question some of the claims of people who use it as a defense to this sort of crime (if that does indeed happen)
