United Plus 95 - 10% ethanol at the same price as 91

    Has anyone tried this?

I ran a tank and it seems to be ok.

About the same price as 91 but it's 95 octane. Fuel consumption quite ok too.

    Problem is servos are rare.

We have a Freedom servo just near our house. They have Freedom Elite 95 which is 10% ethanol for 2cpl LESS than 91. And surprisingly (with no solid scientific testing) we seem to get better economy than with BP or Shell 95 or 98 Octane fuel. We have been using it for a couple of months now with the occasional fill up of ethanol free stuff (more about fill up requirements than concern about ethanol content)

The two Mobil servos in town were bought by United & i have been using Boost 95 and boost 98 ever since. No problems to report*

*I only run them in a TS Astra and a vt2 Wagon so my performance testing may or may not be relevant.............
      Now without LS1........again!

I use Uniteds Boost 95 almost exclusively because the 2 cheapest servos I go past are Uniteds. I have been doing this for 2 years. Have not had a problem and get very good fuel economy.

Used in widebody Camrys. 4cyl and V6.

The United I go to is $1.08 for Boost 95 this morning and will be cheaper tomorrow. (Its always cheapest on a Tuesday).

I've been running United 95 Plus for about 6 months. Usually 3-4 cents cheaper than 91 from the other servos round here, sometimes even more so. No problems and almost exactly same fuel consumption.

Everybody says "no problems" but then how long does it take to adversely affect seals and hoses?

I use the occasional tank of boost 98. The first one it ran and idled crappy! I think that might have been residual water in the tank being absorbed by the alcohol though.
After that its been fine. Only one tank in about 4 of late though.
