Im asking 12ish

Some dude emails me "cos its not a real RS ill offer 8k"

I emailed back "8k and I keep the motec seats brakes rims suspension.

I got fucked around a lot selling my GSR, lots of kids with no cash, or people who you go our of your way to fucking meet and they don't turn up (you know who you are, and you know you should have turned up ) , Less so with the SS ute, had a couple of guys look at it.. one of them was like 'yeah its really nice.. but i gotta sell my S ute before i can buy it.. and i should be able to get like 22 for it.. because i bought it for 18. but then i bought the wheel and lowered it and shit. strangely enough i never heard back from him...

i ended up selling it really easy to a chick who was *JUST* about to buy a red one from a dealer for more.. but she wanted a black one.. came over, fell in love with it.. i was happy to see her happy with it.. the sale took longer than it should have (finance companies in late december/early jan) but was still okay.

the last car i sold was an excel.. (and is still the only car i made money on) talk about breakin my balls on a $1500 car.. i ended up letting it go for 1200, just because it was this girls first car, and i figured she didn't have the money she was spending anyway.. and if she was getting stuck driving an excel she better have some extra cash..

all i seem to get is fulleeee siik swedes calling/sms'ing and saying "will you swap for my xxxxx shitbox?"

I'm at the stage now where i'm basically telling people to bugger off.

2 calls from the last 2 days:

This first guy called 3 times in 5 minutes and left 3 messages (i was on another phone call)
so i return his call, and he goes:
Him: "Hi, i was calling about the RX7"
Me: "Sure, how can i help you out there?"
Him: "What's the best price you'll do on it?"
Me: "The price its advertised for... it's already pretty much the cheapest Series IV Turbo in Australia, but, what are you prepared to offer?"
Him: "Well, i can get one in alot better condition from Autostyle in Sydney shipped to my door for $7500, so something less than that"
Me: "I suggest you buy that one then" and then hung up

Another guy the next day:
Him: "Hi, i'm calling about the RX7"
Me: "How can i help you there?"
(the line is really bad about this point, am trying to hear him, and then he starts getting shitty/abusive at me 'coz he can't hear me, when he's the guy with the dodgey phone reception - i had full reception)
Him: "Tell me what the best price you'll do on the car is?"
Me: "What it is advertised for - i feel it is priced fairly considering that alot of Series IV's are still over $10k"
Him: "Well, i just missed out on an immaculate Series V turbo for $3k"
then a long pause while he was waiting for me to say "SURE! I'll sell you my car for $3k"
Me: "Well, why didn't you buy that one?" and hung up

And don't even get me started on caryards!
had 2 salesmen literally try to punch on with me the other day when i was looking to BUY a car from them!

I like buying cars but I hate selling them more then anything . I had to put up with so much shit when I was selling the capri it has totally turned me off buying another modified car again .

I find just putting in the ad all things that will piss you off if asked, really works wonders. That cuts out trading post, but that's a waste of money these days anyhow.

* here are enough photos to get a general condition of the car
* price is fixed unless I decide to drop the price, which will be listed
* NO SMS
* NO SWAPS
* no offers without having seen the car
* no test drives without deposit (depending on car)

If the person reading the ad things you're an anal prick.. and hence probably thinks the above is perfectly acceptable. You'll never hear from them. If not, a nice "can't you read you moron" is perfectly acceptable to me.

And if people are actually interested in the car, you'll go "fair enough, he's upfront, he'll probably be the same about the car" - you get a good buyer, who has a reasonable chance of coming through. I know if I was buying a car, I'd probably respect the above as well ,and at least think in my mind 'well i had better be quite serious before i approach this guy, and not be just half interested'.

what shits me the most is people that are looking at purchasing my $15k subaru that cant even afford to make a phone call to talk to me about it! i was getting the odd prank call and then when i called back it was "sorry bro, didnt wanna waste me credit" or sms's saying "ring me i want your car"

FC's are the WORST to sell. It took me forever to sell mine, I had to deal with lots of shit kickers, swedes, and dreamers, and eventually had to sell it at a stupidly low price just because I was so tired of the ongoing shit!
