      Interstate claims..
If you return home without your car, they will generally pay for the transport via road /rail freight to get the car back to you at your home. However, if you would prefer to go and pick it up, you can discuss this with them and they may pay for your flight to go and collect the car and drive it home..

(depends of the costs etc.. eg, if the delivery of the vehicle is $700 for them from say Brisbane to Melbourne, and you offer to go and collect it, and the cost for you is $220 in Airfare and $80 for 1 nights accomodation, then you can argue that they are better off doing it that way. Most of them are pretty flexible when it comes to stuff like that..

      (Example...
We had a client who was on holidays with his wife and their car hit a big roo up near Mt Isa in Outback Qld but lived in Kiama on the South coast of NSW. The car was going to take about 14-17 days to get repaired in Mt Isa, (so staying wasn't an option for them) so we paid for him and his wife to fly from Mt Isa to Sydney to get home. We then paid to fly the Husband back (at his request to drive the Car home) to Mt Isa to drive back and paid for 1 nights accomodation in Charlieville or Bourke (can't remember). Doing that was cheaper than freighting a non-drivable car from Mt Isa to a repairer near his home..

Air Fares came to about $1100 + Accomodation + Airport Transfers - all up it was still lots cheaper than the Freight (including trailer) which was about $1,650
(the client was concerned about items in the trailer being stolen too, so didn't want to trust it on an open truck etc)

Thats why I have the Ford, so I dont have to be worried about things like this. I'm normally pendantic about panel gaps, fit and finish but since Ford factory panel tolerances are measured in centimeters, not tenths of millimeters like most others, I'm not too worried

It happened about 10 mins from your place too!

if you are 24 at renewal, that is what your premium is based on...

call them, ask what the difference is and if they offer a 6 mth policy etc...

Age is a rating factor. Get an estimate come your birthday and depending on your available payment plans it may be worth re-issuing or not.
