    Which car and where to go?

    I'm in LA for about 5-7 Days on my way back through LAX to home so I was thinking about hiring a car and doing a mini road trip (starting and ending at LA).

    First Question: If you had the choice which vehicle would you go with - Dodge Charger or the Ford Mustang. Rental companies over here offer them for only a few dollars more then shittier models ie. Hyundais/Kia's so thought I may as well get a decent car.

    Second Question: Anyone with any ideas where I should head in that time (keeping in mind having to start/end in LA and only have 5-7 days). I've already done Vegas, San Diego and San Francisco so looking for original ideas.

    Drive up the coast towards San Francisco and back, its really nice. Go to Monterey, Hearst Castle etc. Oooh, and go find the spot that Swede crashed the Enzo or the spot Mel Gibson got pulled over in Malibu

          yeah the 6cyl mustangs are the pox. go the charger, but for a 'few dollars more' it's unlikely that you'll get the sporty version. if you want the hemi or the mustang gt you'll need to pay more i'd say.

          in 5-7 days there are some great spots up north of san fran, in wine country. Try sonoma county, russian river, lots of windy roads and redwood forrests / wineries. You could also head out to lake tahoe and up over the sierra nevada's, again beautiful this time of year (needs more snow, I just bought new boots yesterday dammit and am dying to run in my dynastar 8000's) and lots of lakes etc. I live very near there.

          otherwise, road trip to seattle up the coast. great fun, and seattle is a fun town.
