        Pickup a late enough VK and it'll already have the VL diff, our 6/85 Calais had the discbraked VL diff. Sold it for $800 but it was in good nick.

            GSRman, Pickles seem to do lots of 4cyl onversions. Why just yesterday I was looking at a crashed BF that was apparently powered by a 1.3L suzuki sierra motor.

                Can't be fucked to figure it out, but surely one could get a ghetto style Centura with a blow-thru turbo 265 smashing down the quarter for under $10k. Dunno how close it would go to 10's though.

                          You'll do it cheaper than that man.
                          Scratch the T04z - too many $$ -just get an MP T70.

                          If you're handy a megasquirt could be used instead of the microtech.

                          Leave the stock cam in there, mill head, gasket set & bolts should be around $200.

                            I tried to do a megasquirt once and failed.

                            After soldering for 10 hours and messing around trying for get it work for a few weeks I would never attempt it again. Ill leave ECU's and tuning to experts.

                            Has anyone on here used a mp turbo for an extended period of time? I figured it would be safer to TO4z it and know that it should last. It does add another grand or so to the cost though.

                            Maybe a 2nd hand 35r would do it. But Im not sure it would have the grunt to do it without a special big $$ trans and lots of stripping of weight.

                            There is a low K 35r for sale for $1300 on another forum. The guy ran an 11.2 with it in an EL with a stock trans and decent stall converter. Not sure if that was all he could get out of it though.

                              10s for < 10k is much easier if you dont have to worry about road worthiness, i think you'd be hard streched to build a road worthy 10 sec car on that budget, atleast one that can run repeatable 10s. My V8 ke20 is far from finished but i have all the bits, paint, consumables everything bar tailshaft and exhuast to finish and i am fair wack below 10k, that being said i still have alot of labour to put in and i am sure there will be misc costs. Then i am not sure it'll have the 60' in it for a 10 with a stock convertor and large turbine.
