Telstra (TeleFleet) NT had defenders with the box on the back for 4 mths for their remote field workforce, they were replaced very quickly again by cruisers, patrols and hilux's. The defenders kept braking diffs, springs etc. I personally spoke to a few guys that had them and in their words they were big POS that couldnt cope with a heavy load inthe box over extremley rough corrugations. But what would they know they only spend 80% of their time in remote outback locations. Ive travelled remotley a fair bit up NT, WA and SA in cruisers and Patrols and never had a problem, never driven a defender , have no wish to really, only commenting on what Ive heard

Yeah what ever, it was NOT a speed issue, he went around at 50-60 in a corner that I drive around EVERY day at 60-80 .. his back wheels came around and met the front.

AWD wouldnt have done this .. so just Shut the fuck up. :knock:

Don't be silly, what would those princesses know ?

        Defender is the ultimate 4WD-er.

I am never ever going to win, because you all talk to people who have mates who have had issues.

So ... slag away, while all your cars are broken down, having issues, or are so crap you rebuild them in your new 'Shed' I will be happy .. and thats all that matters, Being happy!

Yeah the engine / electronics etc are different, but saying they are all different it just "Toyota Lovers" bull shit ... ever looked underone, they are just like every other car, bolts do not move, mounts do not change etc etc..

But believe your friends, etc etc.. but the truth is, you know shit about fuck all

they were talking about the mounting holes never ever ever lineing up. probably because their chassis are/were hand made. strange thing is her hubby, who made them, was always complaining about it as well. so unless u have fitted a steel body to a landrover i sugest u crawl into ur box and b quiet.

and im not a "toyota lover" i bought it because it was the best value, 6cyl trayback 2wd ute on the market at the time. i would have bought a navara but unfortunately nissan has droped the V6 in their 2wd utes, which kinda makes sence 196kw in a 2wd ute is gonna be scary, and probably faster than a Z
3 broken mitsubishi's (fuck im stupid)

You're never gunna win as long as u keep gettin ya vagina all sanded up as soon as rover and SHIT appear in the same sentence!

So, so far you have a good one, and maybe the defenders are better than DISCOSHITS? not too many of these things people have said here are refering to DEFENDERS, most are refering to DISCO's

I havent owned one, but i can tell you and no "FUCKING BULLSHIT"
I HAVE SEEN MORE DISCOVERIES ( NOT DEFENDERS ) on racq trucks, with racq under the bonnet, or holding traffic up at lights with the bonnet up, THAN ANY OTHER CAR. and being a bit of a hater, and a cynic of MANY THINGS, im constantly on the lookout for a laugh.

i know youll just call bullshit on what i just said, and if it makes ya feel better. go ahead :p

Completely seriously, I talk to the people with the vehicles with issues; it's not their mates.
I really do believe you're lucky & that yours isn't a Friday Car or a Monday Car; and that the calendar at LR read Mon Mon Wed Fri Fri Sat Sun. Having said that, it's Rangies & Discos that friends/colleagues have had, not Defenders.
But maybe I'm biased because LR only makes gerlytrux, whereas Toyota made a few good cars in the mid 80's once.
Soft roaders represent an excellent compromise between the needs of the hardcore 4x4 user and the convenience of a city hatchback. Its clear to see why they have become so popular in todays society.

9 years of Rangie ownership here.....they have the worst build quality of any car on earth. Anyone who thinks otherwise deserves to drive one for the rest of their natural life

Nah the 2007 new model is already on the books in Australia, with a 50k price on them .. if I would have the money, I would order a 2007 model tomorrow.

They are removing the Defenders air vents thou .. not happy about that, but if they kill the defender in 2010 I will be surprised.
