itll be a bit slower in straight line and handle a shiteload better if its not the RZ theres no point. Thats like having the worlds hottest girlfriend but she has no vagina and her mouth only works for talking.
The moment I decided against an MX5 was when I was driving the GF's car, and she was driving my falcon. I was following her and she gave my car some going up a hill into an 80 zone, and I thrashed the living fuck out of the MX5 (7200rpm upshifts!) and the gf was pulling many carlengths on me away from the intersection.
I just couldn't own a car that slow, even if its a hoot to drive.

Supras (primarily NA ones) don't exactly have reputations for having the best brakes either.
lol, they use the same brakes as Turbo models, heck even my 95 NA had teh optional big brakes (4 pot front & 2 pot rear). It was actually a very good car, but as others said, youl want a TT straight away.

Hell, I DO want a TT straight away, I want a Ferrari straight away too, but this comes down to me having an interesting car and being able to afford it.

So are the "big brakes" an option or do all of them come with the "big brakes"? If the brakes were so good, why would people be upgrading them?
My comments were more from experience with a mate's worked TT a few years back who commented that the brakes were the weak point on the car. Probably fine for day-to-day travel, but he wanted to do track/Old Pac runs.

Yeah but most of em have a billion k's on them or shitty 48 inch tempe chromies on them or are auto. Are these things any good to drive?

from 95 on, it was an option on any Supra. 93-94 they had smaller 2 pot brakes, which as you say, were ok for everyday driving, but not adequent for track days. After 96.5 they big brakes were standard on RZ models (Not RZ-s SZ or SZ-S or GZ).

Nice link, seems like a worthwhile upgrade if I got one with the stocker brakes.

Here are some idea's - not really sure on your exact budget.
Astra SRi turbo
Pug 206 GTi, 306 GTi6
Clio Sport
Ralliart Magna, Magna AWD sport (these both had bigger brakes)
Focus ST170
200SX (S14 or S15)
BA XR6 manual, BA XT Manual (the manuals are prety quick and you can get NA powerup kits to 230kw)
SW20 MR2 is actually a fun little machine if you're staying NA and RWD, but not everyone can handle living with a strict 2-seater with SFA luggage space; they're far from the most practical car in the world. Also I don't know if insurance would be great for a car like this, but the non-turbo models might not be too bad.
