I've seen the set of 4 calipers and rotors go for around the 2 to 2.5k mark...
Yeah same ones as the harrop ones on ebay at the moment for $3500 brand new. Awesome brakes!

Are you going to die waiting for some suitable brakes to appear for sale 2nd hand?

Shit, cleared now mate. Hadn't realised it was full...

FLI - Yeah, Harrop and HSV Premiums seem the same Craig but i'm not 100% sure ?? Dattoman will know for sure and might pop his ugly head in here...

Alex - Gav is thinking of track days which is the only time the bastard should be going fast enough to need bigger brakes...

yeah Paul they are 100% the same AFAIK as harrop make the ones for hsv and the only difference is they cast the HSV on the front instead of harrop.

            Shit hey ?? I wasn't sure mate...

That makes them an even better buy if that's the case. The Harrops seem to command better prices on the second hand market that's for sure...

ok, well that will be my path then. the idea of spending $2500 on monaro 2 potters didn't fill me with a lot of joy.

                heres my pricing thus far ;

                1) DBA slotted discs all around, some hardcore pads that start with an F that I can't remember, installed - $923. minus $220 if I use RDA discs
this is what i basically have on my car,

slotteds all round with bendix performax pads on the front and stock on the rear,

i can pull up from 240 to 100 stop once and once only,

at the end of the 1/4 at 127mph it was a hard on the brakes and they were just about gone by the time i got to the return road, i reckon i could do 1 lap of wakefield before there was nothing at all,

daves ap 6 spots you can flog the whole old pac and they just work better and better the hotter you get them and NEVER fade

BTW dont get ebc green stuff, they for some reason are worse than the stock pads
                im a cunt
and apparently i dont know shit...

My standard brakes are shit - did you guys think the same ?? It's as though the booster doesn't have enough grunt and the pedal feels weird once you get down to say less than 30km/h ??

If i stand on the brakes at 120km/h they are fine - it's only the last little bit that seems strange. I'd hate to have to stop more than once from high speed though as Dale said above...

                  4 (or even 6) pots ftmfw !

At $3500 that package is cheap. I wish I had of seen that before I bought my setup I would get that. When you get rid of the car pull them off and put them up for sale. You would get a minimum of $2500 second hand. Just be aware pads are not a straight drop in like APs.

Edit: Sorry I have just noticed my brakes are 1 package above (343 discs all round with different calipers) They are still good value.

The HSV brakes are built under contract by Harrop to a price, the actual Harrop brakes are a better bet (higher quality). I also wouldnt pay that sort of money for second hand HSV brakes but many will.

given there is 3 and a bit days left on that auction my guess is it'll go for well over 3k

but what i mean is, is that the ones u mentioned fatty? i.e. i want to find the 4 pot brakes from a clubby if possible?

While you are sorting brakes, buy a few sets of good tyres for the overweight bastard.

(PS You end up a long way from the budget end of town once you want to make an 1800 kg car stop and turn don't you? :D)
