The vast majority of Marque Sports (or Production Sports as they are known now) are not eligible, as you will see when you have access to the regs.

What I don't get is how they can call the Exige/Elise a group 3E car? It's a category 2 car - it has no back seat and only two doors. That's the problem - they don't want GT3s there, but they let other marques in of virtually identical configuration. I should surely be allowed to run a Cayman or an RX7 if I can run an Exige or a 350Z?
A lack of consistency loses them credibility IMO.
A slow day at the track is better than any day in the office.
A Lotus Trophy Exige or Elise is FAR from a GT3 spec machine. Those cars were barely modded at all compared to something in 2F. Also the Lotus class is a separate class altogether like the Eco-Hybrid/Diesel class.
Cayman is outside the price limit for race.
RX7 is eligible as it meets the criteria for having run in Performance and Production in the last 5 years - but you need dispensation to run it and it must conform to 3E (which Performance Cars do not).
If someone were to say "Here edo, go race this Prius in the Bathurst 12 hour, it will cost you less than $5k" I wouldnt be able to get my cheque book out fast enough.
Give a shit what the car is...it would most likely be the only chance Id get to run at Bathurst.
Id do it in a trabant if the opportunity arose.
Oh, note that with the elise/exige they reserve the right to nominate minimum weight...I bet what ever that weight is will screw their chances.
Could it work out cheaper to buy a late Evo (6, 7 or 8) or equivalent WRX rally car and enter that? You get a good cage, seats, harness, firebomb, spare wheels, and usually a spares package as well.
More than likely it will have good suspension like Proflex, DMS, Ohlins etc that you can tune to suit the circuit.
Maybe something like this ?

Huh? 2F is what my MX5 is, for starters, they have to be under 2.5L. I highly doubt my car has any more mods done to it than those Lotuses. It still has electric mirrors and windows in it. It is the most limited class of Production Sports Cars. Fairly certain one of the Lotuses would not comply.

Swapping engines, extra wings, upgraded brakes and gearboxes seems to be the go in 2F?
Nope can't do any of that. You can't even run a front spoiler like a Mazdaspeed one. If it were not available for an NA MX5 during it's production run, you can't run it. Same appiles to 944's ect. Sure you aren't thinking of 2B?

Yep, you can chop the windscreen and do a fair bit in 2B.
