I didn't miss the point at all, i think in your attempts to rebut my comment you skipped my other one.

I don't condone speeding. No matter a purposefully 200 on the freeway, or 80 in a 60. But seriously, how can you look at a cop sitting below a hill right before a speed change and think "thats fair"

It may not be fair, but in the end he is simply trying to get out of taking responsibility for his actions.

And thats wrong when his actions are being regulated incorrectly and in a matter so as to take advantage of them?

if he gets out of it good for him, maybe someone higher up will agree. If not, i don't think hes foaming at the mouth about it.

          Poorly written letter.

Look at the 1st word in 90% of the sentences in the 1st 2 paragraphs...I or My...what does that say?

What you want to say is fine but how youve said it is just horrible.

            I noticed that.
            I don't really care.
My, Like I said before it's a 5 minute letter to people that don't give a shit.
I would most likely get more out of writting directly to the police.
I write like I think: It's all about ME :D

Got your suspension kits for the BA Xr6t's sorted out yet mate?

lol, I have my car...and Im going to Sandown next month. By then I will have driven it enough over all sorts of roads & race tracks to have the setup sorted. Its not bad now but I think needs a bit more rebound damping in the front...I think...still pondering.

                Very good,
Make sure a PM goes my way when your ready to ship.
I was looking at going the small super hatch (VW Polo, Golf GTI) but their to Farking expensive for the metal.. plus the wife likes to tow heavy crap around so XR6T FTW... and no more speeding fines lest I have to crack some more anger on the pollies.

just say you have a copy of the operating procedures

just say you have some panoramic photos with a big 'X' where the cop is

doesn't this wind up being a kinda 'he said, she said' thing where the cop can dispute just exactly what position he was on the road that day?

unless it's a HUGE incline the human eye might have problems discerning a 5% incline in photos

He was speeding and he knows it. Even if the old speed limit had been in place, he still would have been speeding. I don't particularly care if he was speeding, but ffs man up and take responsibility for your actions. Blaming the cop for catching you is just pissweak.
So everyone should just bend over and take it every time...

Its upto the people to keep the government in check and thats not going to happen if people don't question the relative authorities when dodgy things happen...

There is no where to sit other then 1) on the incline, 2) at the base of the incline (where he was) or 3) actually in the 80 zone.
Mind you he could just outright lie and say he was sitting in the shopping centre and it was actually a 25 zone..

I wouldn't be bothering to take this to court, I was thinking of getting a copy of the proceedure.. posting it so others in SA can know all about it incase there are stipulations on positioning and then writting another letter to the police asking for clemancy based on his position.
Most likley will just end up paying the fine but it I can take 10 mins of my time to cause hours of theirs.. then I win a moral victory.. kind of like William Wallace. "Freedom!!!"

So you shoot the photos from as far away as practical with the longest zoom you can use in order to ensure that the lens generated perspective distortion is in your favor and makes the hill look even steeper.

Like the good old days in Queensland, where the police would bring their own temporary speed sign and lower the speed on the Pacific Highway between Brisbane and the Gold Coast in a spot that was a convenient location to set up their RADAR. Lots of people missed the single "new" 80 sign and got booked there for doing 100 in what was normally a 100 zone that the police had temporarily reduced to 80 (dead straight road, no road works, no changed conditions other than the presence of the police RADAR) for the duration of the RADAR operation.

Or where it had been decided to raise the limit on a road, and the police would set up their RADAR on the last day of the old lower speed limit. Today it's not safe to do 70 in that 60 zone, but tomorrow it will be safe to do the same 70 in the "new and improved and much much safer" 70 zone. The safety improvements involved nothing more than changing the speed sign.

And they wonder why the public consider revenue raising to be their prime objective.
