It's just a contract... I'm contracted to a way much more prestigious roadside assistance company than NRMA/RACQ & they know and support (as would those) that their quanity alone does not substanciate solo contracts... Whats more, tow away towing is 100% legal & needed...Originally posted by thechucksteri think the racq will care very much about licenced contractors doing non-racq stuff while wearing their corporate gear.
I am the most hypocritical prick I know, & while I spew at tow away towies & laugh at offers to partake in it, & I can assure you I can not stand the cockhead pricks at my towing unit that park in my allicated 3 spots that makes it an absolute prick to get into my unit when they are there...
I even have signs that exactly reads "TOWIE PARKING ONLY all others will be towed - ransacked & fuel retrieved" with a
for legal & business PR reasons... But they still park there...
My Dad says I should take off the big
sticker and see what happens...

One place in the Fortitude Valley at which I used to do computer maintenance work, the towing service and signs were all provided by the towing company, and the towing company had a list of the licence plates of all authorized vehicles. The towing company themselves did regular passes through the carpark and if your car wasn't on the list, and you didn't have a specific photocopied sign on your dashboard, then they'd tow the car without even checking (although the occasional towie would drop in to the nearest business to see if the car belonged to anybody inside). And although the businesses there were basically only 9-5/M-F operations, the towing company would check the carpark at night and on the weekends and just tow any unauthorized vehicles found in the car park.
It certainly lead to some nasty confrontations when the car owner got back and found that their car was missing, but many times the business owners weren't even aware that a tow was going to happen until the towie turned up. At night and on the weekend, when no businesses were open, only the towie and the car owner were aware that a towing had happened, but the business owners still got the pleasure of a confrontation by the car owner on the next business day.
The only time the business I worked for called the towing company was when they were ignored or abused when they politely asked the car owner to shift their car if they knew they'd need the space for an expected client ... or the car had became a regular abuser of their parking spaces.James

Just 2 things to remember:Originally posted by AzzurrAhaha, i still can't believe that story (even though i'm the one who took the call) and what annoyed me even more is that after 1 1/2 hours of my trying, he just goes "oh, i got a friend who can help me, but thanks anyway"
1. You tried to help...
2. Next time, palm off the job...
