Anyone seen this before, or know anything about it?

    Apologies about the size...

notice the high pressure zones in between the two wings... looks nice.

Yeah it was a proposal about 1-2 years ago... can't remember whats happening with it though...

Found it, trawling the net looking for some Desktop backgrounds actuallly. Just seemed like an interesting design, I wonder what the benefits/drawbacks might be?

Yep, it was a proposal to help encourage overtaking, but reducing the turbulent airflow behind the car. So the following cars could get closer and not lose downforce, and in a straight line there'd be a little 'hole' that the trailing car could creep up on, etc.

              Came to nothing though.

Not high pressure per se, but just moving air that would decrease the efficiency of the diffuser and a design that would render the two rear wings practically useless (by virtue of their location behind the wheels). Typically the design introduced more questions than answers.

Centre Downwash Generator I think it was called.

Would a car of this design (or similar) be legal within the current rules? It would be interesting to see what sort of laptimes it might produce.

yeah not high pressure, I meant low pressure. From the top down view it has the shape of a planes wing with looks like it's somehow there to create some sort of inward lift... but yes, behind the tyres does create more questions...

Actually, just looking at this design, could it reduce turbulence generated by the rear tyres?

If anything the wake from the wing there would increase turbulence.
