very interesting watching that chernobyl video.... now i'm not quite sure how radiation exposure works, but i would think that if the radiation levels in that place were as dangerous as everyone says, they'd be wearing more than a little paper mask?

Cal, No. Im at Centrepoint in Bourke street Mall. It is the original Coles variety store in Melb. The basement of which has the tunnel which goes under the bourke street Mall (couldnt get far because of the rotten timber floor). We have plastered over that again now.

SV-i, Not sure if that the same building, its the big grey bastard cnr Bourke * Spencer. Still empty I believe. Printing presses pre WW2 are still there. Lots of stuff on walls from days long past. Its funny how it always appears that everyone just walked out...chairs pushed away from tables like someone just got up, coats on pegs etc. Its hell dusty though...printing is a bit filthy I guess.

I am supposed to be doing an inspection of the Myer Bourke st building soon (its for sale) & will have a poke around under the basement. Ive been through the upper floors of both the Bourke & Lonsdale st buildings & thats pretty damn weird...in that much of it has been empty since the 60s...& boy is there some shit there that doesnt make sense.

        abandoned sites

Flinders St station is a good look.
It has a formal ballroom and alot of empty office space.
Being out on the roof is like stepping back in time.
The clocks faces are incredible from the inside.

The old power station on Spencer St is awesome.
Full of asbestos, but the parquetry floor is massive.
        Big old chimney.
Which you can get inside of, if the dark does not wig you out.
Lots of industrial pipes and even a theatre for workers.

from building 108 at RMIT (yes the cancer building) I think I look down at the coles building when Im in my mates office. The "green" office block is right next door at the back with those yellow wind vanes on top.

yep, that sounds like the right Age building.
the back rooms of Myer in one place (I forget where) reminded me of a ship, pipes running freaking everywhere.

                yeah interesting shit.

sacramento (where I'm at) the whole city was raised in the early part of the 20th, so there's almost a whole city underground.

                hmm

That'd be the site! Kind of creepy seeing it all run down and in various states of demolition

Yep indeed. My friends mum used to be one of the managers there, back in school we used to go there heaps since we got in for free. The place was such a rip off in it's later years.. but I still miss the place. Brings back memories seeing that site.

The older i get, the better i was...
