it was the fuel that changed noticably (obiously reset the static ign timing each time we touched teh intake cam),

it got heaps richer when the intake got advanced, it went to around 12.0-11.5 when we advanced it each 5'...

then the tuner took fuel back out (12.5:1 target) and then the power curve jumped...

i didnt notice him plying with the ign timing much whilst doing the cam gears,

but once we were happy with the cam gear changes, he re-did all the part throttle tuning from 1100rpm up to 4500 in 500rpm increments...

he said this was because the cam timing changes had thrown it all out again...

Well done on the 1.55, the little orange escort could only manage a 1.57.
          Cheers

orange escort eh? i hope i can keep improving, wakie is my favorite track, so should really be able to assess my recent upgrades there next month...

shame that EC ended the way it did, i really felt i had more in me as i was getting used to the extra power, which meant new braking points etc...

Thats roughly the same power as my R had (std extractors, inlet, air box etc...actually all std except exhaust & motec) ...you will get more mid range though by lowering the vtec point. Not that it makes any bloody difference, my data logging showed that in 3 race weekends (practice, qualifying & 2 races each weekend) I didnt get below 6000rpm...except once & I knew exactly when that was.

apparently in this case, lowering VTEC point on these cams wont assist...

my previous VTEC point on the std R cams was 4600, it is now 5500...
