Nice looking car, but I read TE50 and was thinking some kind of old Corolla. This seems better, imo.

better than xr6t, ba xr8, ss commo, because they arent common as muck!

sweet sounding engine!! the reviews when they came out said they were the best sounding v8 aussie car ever, and wondered how they got away with that sound out of the box.

why i wouldnt.... well, they look like every riced up 6 cyl au piloted by a 17 yo p plater ( well the 5% of em who dont drive executive commos anyway.)

can get series 1 ts50's for 10 grand now. find one and spend 20 on it

        this is sweet

Only if you live life one quater mile at a time. But if you want to stop and turn corners TE50 FTW.

BF XR6T > TE50 and they can be had for the same price.

Guy dead set did his block in when the service advisor told him how much it would cost. A replacement set were sourced from a local manufacturer who used the old backing plates and made up another set with a similar compound, still think the price was around $700. I think from memory the front discs are $980 each and the pads are $1180

Of course in the aftermarket you can have DBA 2 piece slotted front discs , 4000 series slotted rear discs and DS2500 pads all round for less than just doing the fronts at Ford
And the Ford stuff lasts about 40 000km before its rooted

However I don't think this relates to this particular car. Looks like the povo pack with baby brakes

So besides everything mentioned I'll put my 2c in
                Why not to buy

it's only worth $30k if it's a gold plated AU

i cannot fathom any $30k AU... ever.

Im a Ford man through and through but its hard to go past something like this:

                    http://www.carsales.com.au/used-cars...ime|1&trecs=35

Looks good, has premium brakes, more power, LS1 so easy to gain more power, and looks nicer IMO.

Im not only sure Im HIV positive.

                        but it's manual dude!

and it was $99k RRP so that's some hard arse depreciation right there...

Hot looking car. Loved them when they came out and still love the look of them today.

                          Why I wouldn't,
30k is a lot of coin for an AU.
The grunt the 5.6L is currently making is probably as good as it's going to get. The LS1, XR6T, BOSS V8 can all make a lot more with very minor mods.

Now if I could get a BOSS V8 in the S3 TE50 package then I reckon that'd be nearly the best car ever*.

*not really the best but I reckon it would be rather tops.

I feel vomit in my mouth looking at those front seats. They would want to be a lot more comfortable than what they look like.

very nice, but 30k for any AU is nuts. i can't imagine they are particularly easy to sell (which may work for you ? if you plan to keep it for a long time)

you're doing a lot of talking in past tense - i tend to agree they WERE the hotness but many better things have come along since and for less $$$.

$30 grand? Is there $15k of blow in the boot or something?
