Well it's got more info than our Home Page. Guess that'll change soon enough.

What would it take for a V8 Supercar to win outright over there? Something decent, like the HRT cars or similar?Originally posted by klampykixxas an example, an elephant pushes over a tree to eat the fresh leaves at the top, but a human isnt allowed to build a machine that makes a car so he can drive around to places quicker?

I believe they would be owned by that RSR.Originally posted by peter_vod69What would it take for a V8 Supercar to win outright over there? Something decent, like the HRT cars or similar?
Cal.The most dangerous risk of all - the risk of spending your life not doing what you want, on the bet you can buy yourself the freedom to do it later. - Randy Komisar.

I heard that the VIP Petfoods RSR did a 1.09 (unofficial) around QR at the media day (first time Baird drove the car). That would be in endurance spec (inc restrictors on engine), not the 'only need to last 500k' spec which V8's usually run.
V8's were only doing 1.10's during Qualifying at QR last year. RSR would clean up a V8 on equal terms (be it endurance or weekend type event).

That's at QR. A Porsche hardly gets to exploit it's self on that track. I think you'd find the lap time difference around the Ring would be significant.

according to RPM they were running 29mm restrictors then, and will be running 41mm at the ring (those numbers are just from my fading memory)Toyota Starlet
QR Sprint - 65.9 secs
QR Clubman - 70.2 secs
Gatton Street - 42.5 secs

I woulda thought a well setup V8SC with decent tyres on it (IE not the control Dunglops) would work fairly well on a track with a lot of open flowing bends and bumps?Originally posted by CalThat's at QR. Cal.
Surely, if you were entering a HRT car or similar you could put better tyres on it and strip a little weight out, being that the SC regs wouldn't apply?Originally posted by klampykixxas an example, an elephant pushes over a tree to eat the fresh leaves at the top, but a human isnt allowed to build a machine that makes a car so he can drive around to places quicker?

best of luck, just make sure the other drivers keep it on the track too!
