    Question? No HANS device needed/required?

Nope. Nor did the pit crew need anything other than long pants & a pit pass!

Awesome work, Bill. And good to see Mr. Trama in the background of those shots, doing his thing.
Right now I'm eating scrambled egg. With a comb! Out of a shoe!

              Nero, that reminds me!
Bill, the English commentators were very critical of the refuelling procedures and lack of fire safety gear used by refuellers. Certainly for any endurance racing that requires a refuel stop in the pitlane it is mandatory to have a dry break fuel coupling and I've no doubt it is the same in Aus.
Still sounded like a typical reflection of the UK's (perhaps overly strict) racing regulations. Some other local racing I have seen on the continent has much more relaxed safety regulations than UK/Aus.

Yeah it's bizarre all right and I'd like to see some higher levels of safety in pit lane.

Oh, nearly forgot - Here's another photo of something given to me by a guy that lives about 30 metres down the road from the hotel we stayed at. His name is Franz, and he works in the composites section of Toyota F1.
See if you guys can guess what it is, it blew me away when he told me.
                (It's just a cut-off section of a longer part)

Okay, and a couple of really dumb things I did - I took my video camera along and had it charged up before I left Aus, but when I went to use it in the car to record a couple of laps it was flat, so I didn't get any video at all. Not happy!
The other thing was that yesterday we were in the rental cars, and drove one last slow lap around the track ..... and I had the Performance Forums stickers with me and I forgot to stick them on the guardrail at Karussell ....
                Damn.

Was that faster or slower than sabine in the van? She must have been caining as I remember it to be around 10m mark?

well done for the top time.

A rough guess would have me about 45 seconds to a minute faster.
Though she looks a lot better so it all cancels out.
