AutoAction fucked up again with the names in the Corolla. I'm going to write in and uphold the honour of Sherlax and Stubbsy in the 'rolla.

Uh, what's the phone in the car for? Ordering pizza so it's ready when you get back to the pits?

The track is so big (It has a couple of small towns inside it) and so undulating that a regular radio won't work over the entire track. So when out of range if we have a problem then we get out and use the mobile.

I had no idea the track was so large! On the weekend when reading your pit crew had to "find" you I was like WTF. Pete filled me in.

Definately one of those things in your life you had to experience. Glad you had fun Bill

Top read Bill. I'm off to Europe in December / January and just realised that I'll be staying within driving distance of Nürburg, so pending the winter weather, I'm hoping I get to do a lap of the Ring!

Such a party pooper, Cal :D

It may well be closed for driving, but I have heard that in the winter they now run snowmobile tours around the ring, so that could be worth checking out...

LOL you obviously saw the post where I said it was shut. I then checked the site and it has dates for Dec/Jan. I deleted my post so I didn't look like a bigger knob than I already am.

                Cal.

Yeah I posted and then I realised I'm going smack bang in the middle of winter. There's a stack of days in Dec set aside for the Nordschleife, I guess I'm hoping for some sort of global warming climate change action so there's no snow. Be good just to see it anyway...

Hi. I was Billzilla's squire during the competition over there. I thought I'd pop in and say g'day.

First off, I sent an e-mail and the laptimes for the Corolla have been revised and corrected.

                            http://adac.24h-rennen.de/24hext/DB/...001007&stnr=13

The two long times (Lap 61 and 62) are where the wheel fell off. The first laptime was where Bill pulled over for a chat on the mobile to call the NRMA, and when we got out there with the jack and got him going, he crossed the start/finish line and spent the next 35 minutes of the next lap in the pits.

As you can see, Paul Stubber pulled some pretty good laptimes at the end, but Bill was the only one to keep the car under control.

I have a pile of photos of the event here:

                            http://www.flickr.com/photos/dark_orange/

And a blog that never was here:

                            http://thegreenhellbound.blogspot.com/

If anybody has any questions, I'll be happy to answer them.
Is it crazy how saying sentences backwards creates backwards sentences saying how crazy it is?

Hey Michael, good to see you can post here now.
Guys, Michael is the bloody good photographer that took all the better photos you'll see of the event. I took the crappy ones.
