So, have a VS commodore wagon as general duties hack...
Its been a bit random when you go to start it of late, sometimes it starts first hit, othertimes you just get the classic tick-tick of a flat battery. This is no great surprise except that battery is a good quality brand and is basically a year old. The starter motor was replaced less than 2 years ago and I've even had the sub-par factory battery terminals replaced with better items (as they were the cause of a previous starting problem).
RACQ man (out to jump the car after a non-starting episode) diagnoses it as a dead battery, so I purchase a reputable brand replacement. I'm out installing it (as of 2.5 minutes ago) and as I'm removing the battery the main engine earth lead virtually disintegrates in my hand, whilst the terminal and crimp are in good nick the cabling itself is brittle, corroded and basically rooted.
So, between studying for a 20% exam tomorrow, work friday/saturday/sunday and a 30% assignment due monday and another 30% assignment due tuesday.
While I was changing the battery was so I could go grab some items I need to collect to finish the device my team is developing for the group assignment, which I now can't because there is exactly jack shit chance of the car starting twice... So now that gets bumped back until tomorrow where in addition to failing my maths exam I'll need to finish the device which I wanted to finish tonight AND get the car fixed in time to drive to work at 4am on friday. Happy mcfucking birthday adam...
