The day after I was still kind of brushing it off in my mind as "yeh shit happens I'll be right and be more careful next time"....having some time to think, check out the gear, barely being able to move etc I am definitely realising I got off farking light (and even getting off light is pretty fucking harsh!) and it doesn't matter how careful you are. I know that sounds a bit soft and it's not to say I won't ever ride a bike again but fuck riding in peak hour with a million incompetent fuckers trying to knock you off every day. I don't like the prospect of public transport though.

McVlt - was outbound from the city heading to Stafford. There are 40 and 60 signs here there and everywhere there but I would not have gone above 40kmh - the almost total lack of damage to my gear and very little damage to me backs up that I was not going quick.

Ouch, good to see you werent hurt too bad. Heading outbound, that'd only be a few kilometres from your house, right ?? The number of people I know who've been hit by cars on their bikes is the main reason I don't buy a roadbike.
