This initiative will surely bring more drivers to the city
Isn't that a good thing? While i don't agree with the reasoning behind the extra timed parking period which is blatant revenue raising, cities are made for people so keeping cars out of them is a good thing. At least Melbourne has some of the best public transport in Australia.
PREACH! Newcastle council leave Melbourne City Council for dead in the moron stakes. The sooner they re-open Hunter St to traffic the better.

Public servants* shit me. I know one who effectively gets 1 RDO a fortnight, 4 weeks leave, leave loading, long service leave, coffee/smoko breaks etc. He boasted that he effectively gets paid for 5 days per week work but only does 3.5 days work. Get all those ****ers to do a decent weeks work and productivity will be up 20% in an instant!

No kidding. I've just come to the private sector and miss my perks, as well as 9% superannuation and a 7 year long service leave accrual. It's full of people who can hardly speak english, the disabled and just plain nutcases though.

So then, the country is in good hands.

He cant drive, I dont even think he has a licence...& the last thing we need is another useless driver.
If you think about it, this is quite clever. He is Mayor of the City of Melbourne...now not many people in that electorate would park their cars on the side of the road in the city, because like any city, the slowest way to get around it is by car. So this is something that only directly effects people from other electorates...who cant vote against him.
Whoever suggested that Melb is dead is fucking stupid. There are more people living here than ever before, there are more people working here than ever before. Retail spending is up in the city when compared to regional & super regional shopping centres. The retail foot traffic in the city is up compared to its competitors too.
Most importantly for me retail rents are at record levels & for the first time are the highest in the country.
70ynu has to be the most retarded cunt here. "Help me please" me "you need to remove your head" him "fuck off cunt I'm to lazy fuck off out of my thread you told me to do something I don't want to do so you're a cunt fuck off can some one please tell me an easier way???"

LOL if it was Sydney they would have started putting meters in all streets and charging 52 bucks an hour...
Oh wait, they already have
More the reason not to visit the CBD by car. Why would I when I can catch a ferry into the city?? sure beats driving and parking there ($10 parking all day at a parking station FTW).
Then again, I am those that drive to and from work. The last thing I want to do is drive more.
