If a 3kmh tolerance doesn't bring in the revenue they will end up having 0 tolerance. Either that or the current fad of simply lower the limit for sections of road by 20kmh and then act horrified when in the first week they catch heaps of people over the limit.

look at telstra for a wate of money, they do the 9 day fornight, and depending on wether there deparment boss has given the OK to GPS they can book what ever the fuck they like hours

That's not the point.. the point is just increasing and increasing the limits, reducing the leniency until pretty much everybody gets fined or contributes anyhow. I don't give a shit whether there are no car parks, I just catch p/t or park further out and walk. But parking fines, speeding fines, taxes for practically breathing - it's becoming a joke in this country. If there isn't enough money, governments should increase damn taxes. Instead they make a farce about tax cuts, when in the other segments people end up paying in one way or another.

I haven't got a speeding fine or parking fine for 3+ years, but still, I don't like the idea that no matter what you are doing you have to be thinking about that sort of rubbish - and more important day to day matters. Nor does it really dispose me when I do go down to Melbourne and have to constantly worry about that crap, when the one thing I like about places such as QLD is that you don't.

they give you tax cuts prior to an election so you will vote for them. Them money required for services does not go away...it will always increase, so they have to get the money from elsewhere and in addition it becomes a use-pays supported system braced by 'the market'.

What irritates me most is that councils try to portray themselves as a product whereas they are distinctly service-based that should be 'seen and not heard'. They're nothing more than a rubbish collection/dog registration service. Nothing more, nothing less. don't try to pretend you're spectacular with a free monthly magazine. Just pick up my rubbish and bugger off.

Most of them don't even need one.. they drive on their International one. They used to get both an aussie one and an International one. Lose the aussie, keep driving on the International, or vice versa until they had lost both. I think they've started to crack down on that now though.
