The Studebaker is really something special. It was brought out here by Bert Needham for touring car racing and packed a Granatelli-built R4 engine (aluminium heads, hi-comp, dual carbs) plus numerous other options which makes it quite a rare car today. The Halibrands it's wearing in the photo were a factory option, also very rare today.

I believe it is for sale if you want to buy it.

I wish! It was at auction last year if I recall but I doubt it sold as there isn't a big demand for Studes' in Australia. I already have a '60 Lark hardtop that needs restoration so that will have to do for now.... although I would like an R4 donk to slot under the bonnet! :D

                          Thread resurrection.

In-car footage (Datsun 1600) was uploaded to Youtube last year:

All I can say is holy shit! What a intimidating track!

Great find, wow you'd never get an idea of how challenging that circuit is from looking at a map! Almost every corner is blind with elevation changes. What a shame none of us can drive/ride it.

                            RIP

I also missed this one the first time around. We were on a road trip around that around about a year or two ago and I also walked around it. I'd post some photos but they're identical to the ones in the first post.
A shame to see a track with such character wasting away like that.
