Didn't the UK pretty much invent the Civic Type-R?
I didn't even know, until the thread from a couple of weeks ago on this very forum, that there even was a JDM Type-R ... I'm 98% sure that there wasn't a JDM one in the shape from 2 model-changes ago, and for some reason I thought that'd carried through to the just-superceded shape as well as the current one.
It's kinda sad that the Poms invented the Type-R, and it's gotten all fat & flabby ... it's like an HX Monaro.
Soft roaders represent an excellent compromise between the needs of the hardcore 4x4 user and the convenience of a city hatchback. Its clear to see why they have become so popular in todays society.

1,345kg for a 2 door hatchback? wtf is that

wasn't the DC2 Teggy just 950kg or so?

supposed to be quite a bit faster than a golf GTI
If you just look at the 0-100km/h figures it may seem that way. It's down at least 80Nm on its competitors. That counts for alot.

                      1070kg...or 1270 in GTP

If its the same sort of engine as the DC2 then this thing will be bloody shithouse at that sort of weight.

it shows the JDM weights as:
