fire up but within reason, no threatening to take it too much further, just a simple "im paying x amount for a car thats a lemon, and this is my only car and your making it a very big inconvienience to me by having it off the road for so long"Originally posted by FiXXXeRTrust me I'm firing up which my lawyer doesnt think is a good idea..
then do a rta/rcv (whatever its called in vic) inspection and find every fault on it and give it to them again and make them fix it allOriginally posted by rolin7this forums is going downhill at an awesome rate

Correct. Be reasonable and approachable yet be firm with your concerns. Throwing threats etc will do your cause no good. The customer relations people are there to help to the powers they can. Getting a loaner isn't an uncommon thing for manufacturers to do these sorts of things because it is in their interest for you to come back x years down the track and buy another Holden (dealers may not see it this way though).

WRITE your concerns in a letter, outlining EVERYTHING that has gone wrong, the time it has been off the road and the inconvenience (in costs) of the inability to use your car.
You, as a consumer have many rights under consumer law in regards to the repair, replacement or refund of a product or service that is faulty. By Law you must allow them 3 opportunities to (at their option) REPAIR, REPLACE or REFUND. if the same problem exists after three attempts, you then have rights to decide from there, what action should be taken to rectify the problem..
You need to be FIRM, but FAIR.. ACT, don't REACT..
Getting angry and upset at them will probably not get you anywhere - at least not with the grunts at the dealership or the frontline customer service staff. They are just doing a job and getting angry at them will just make them get pissed off and dig their heels in and play it 100% by the book. Remember you are not the foirst one with these problems, and won't be the last - if you are polite and friendly, whilst still maintaining your position, chances are they will be far more helpful.
State your problems and concerns and what you would like them to do. Give them a timeframe (be reasonable) and request a full explaination and response in writing. Explain that if your reasonable requests are not met, you will seek to lodge an official complaint with the Department of Consumer Affairs / MTA etc and persue the matter further..
The problem should be escalated up the ranks - eg, in my case it was - Dealer Service department -> Dealer Service Manager -> Dealer Principal -> State Manager -> National Manager.
The first two steps were via telephone, the Dealer principal was via phone and letter, and it was cc'd into both the State and National Managers. When I have not rec'd anything satisfactory from the Dealer Pricipal, I called the State Manager and expressed my concerns and it eventually got sorted...

If it's got to the point of writing about your problems with a car dealer on this forum, go to fair trading. The Govt. has big departments full of people just sitting around waiting to jump on people who don't fulfill their legal obligations i.e. provide a product that meets it's marketed specifications. Selling any item that does not provide the desired function is fraud.
One letter from the Govt. and your car will be fixed.
