this is a no no in NSW

you get slugged with a $170 fine for that

i gotta admit i like it

you hook the steering wheel, get the LSD chattering and then slam on the power in a graceful slide as you counter steer and straighten up...

of course by then everyone watching you thinks you're a weiner

maybe the RTA told them to?

i doubt they could remove Traffic Control Devices without authorisation?

we don't have the "turn left on red rule" down here in melb, if you do it, you get booked, but the indicating when you are leaving the roundabout thing in syd had me stumped for a while.

yeah but don't you guys have that "U-turn at any traffic light" bullshit?

hardly anyone does the 'indicate while leaving roundabout' thing

the RTA tried a leaftlet drop several years ago but it never caught on and the police don't enforce it either

I can see why they are doing this - have you ever seen the retards that turn right on the other side of the intersection? They cross 2 lanes...

Come up to Mackay, and I'll show you bad driving. They are fucking hopeless, people here STILL don't understand the "merge in turn" procedure.

you can do a U turn at any time, apart from when there are signs saying no u turn.

the person doing the u turn has to give way to everyone else (trams or cars coming out of a side street, oncoming traffic etc)

there are U turn turning lanes as well for trucks, buses etc or where roads intersecting don't line up (ie pissed surveyors back in 1800's)

Maybe - but if so, why?

Anyway the council here (Syd) loves spending our money clogging the roads up, make no mistake.

It works very well when people know how to do it. The problem is that most fuckwits can't have a think about how it is supposed to work, I've seen and had near misses over it. Dickheads get the left blinker on before they even get onto the roundabout, so of course you think they're going left, only to have them go straight through, and then sometimes even put the right blinker on as they come off

I've never seen an acco at one of these signs. Or for that matter evidence of one (i.e. shattered glass/indicators/&c)

Not to say it doesn't happen but you're raising a different issue - namely that of licensing any idiot, then treating everyone like an idiot.

I got fined $460 for my extra small weiner. I'm not sure if it was because I was in a VP Commodore, or that it was a hektic single spinnar that I accrued bonus points. It wasn't a graceful slide either, more an awkward wobbly thing that needed help with the handbrake.
