    Re roundabouts.

    On the way IN:
    If going straight ahead don't indicate.
    If your exit is prior to 11 o'clock indicate left.
    If your exit is after about 1 o'clock indicate right.

    On the way OUT:
    Always indicate LEFT as you pass the exit BEFORE the one you will take.

    If it helps, you could consider that the roundabout is a lane and the exit is a lane to the left of it, so you must indicate to use it.

    Separate the thought process into two manouvres and its much simpler to decide what needs doing at any point.
