None of the 3 falcons I've owned have felt older than they should (no rattles or bits falling off).
Sure it gets a hard life - driving 15 kms to work and back each day, with a few longer trips in between. I don't even thrash it like I should. Bloody hell I even washed it on the weekend!

It's not just my car - most of the falcons at work have had random bits falling off and so on. One has even had the bonnet repainted after the paint started stripping off to the primer when being washed (and now the same thing has happened to boot). The same car needed the rear suspension pulled apart and rebuilt after coming loose and nearly falling off in less than 20,000kms. Random interior parts have come loose, fallen off etc. The brakes are soft and have heaps of pedal travel - been checked/fixed twice but apparently all 2004 falcons do that.

I'm not complaining - it starts OK and is pretty reliable, but by no means can be considered a good quality car. I'm not suprised there are good and bad ones out there, it's the inconsistency that's not so good.
Marvellous things so quickly get mundane

Well, yeah, but isn't the whole TRD Aurion thing supposed to be the hot rod in the line up? I mean, isn't it supposed to make the shiny panted accountants that buy it think they've bought the F1 technology racing car that they have deluded themselves they need to compensate for a lack of excitement in everything else that they do? Isn't part of the marketing push for this type of car to get the impression of risk and danger over to the prospective buyers to make them feel like a rebel?

I think my point still stands. Building this car is a waste of time.

No its to get people to talk about the brand and start to change the perception that Toyota is white goods on wheels.

What if they start talking about the brand and call the aurion TRD "a try-hard on wheels"?.

            They'd be fucked then.

Yes, but Hako, apparently WE aren't the target market.

(I think having a brain/fucking clue about cars rules us out lol).

This is the most anyone has talked about a Camry on this forum ever.

I think the Hilux will do well personally.

When does having any knowledge of cars preclude anyone from buying a car. Heck, people buy cars. Probably the most financially unsound investment one can ever make in their life... yet they do it over and over again. Where's the logic in that??

I agree, you see many many retates these days in utes with oversized chrome rims. Brainded Yank gangster wannabes the lot of them, "Oh look at me, I'm as incredibly stupid as fiddy sent!".
Soft roaders represent an excellent compromise between the needs of the hardcore 4x4 user and the convenience of a city hatchback. Its clear to see why they have become so popular in todays society.

For a cooking model A to B shitter I agree with you wholeheartedly. But for the top of the line you beaut special, wouldn't you want to have half an idea?

In an ideal world, yes, you'd hope they'd have some sort of idea.. but I know plenty of people buying proper sports cars for the wrong reasons and have NFI what they got themselves into.

Maybe the brand image, be it Type R, HSV, FPV etc has been embedded into their minds.. who knows, but they buy them. Rightly or wrongly and I guess this is another choice people can make. Whether or not they choose to buy it is really up to the individual... and possibly not anyone at PF which is also OK.

If it fails, then it fails... life still goes on. If it works, then it works, life still goes on.
