The thing that stops me looking at the Aurion is it's so goddam ugly, and I own a Verada! Had they clothed it in a better looking body, even the Avalon looks better, then it probably would sell better.

Now hold there, let's not commit to words that cannot be taken back!

The Aurion looks a shit load better than the Avalon.

Yeh, the starting price is something like $57K + onroads. Tell'em his dreaming.

Toyota would have been better of doing a TRD Corolla....

it IS just too close to TuRD.

Not really, there are plenty of people who want a bit of power & Japanese quality. HSV's are very obviously not Japanese quality.

Well ... you never know, they might. Isn't there a badge-engineered whatever-they-call-Corolla-in-Japan with a V6 in it? Coming soon, if not yet?
They may be planning on letting Toyota do all the work themselves, rather than putting in local effort in modding a 4cyl one.
Soft roaders represent an excellent compromise between the needs of the hardcore 4x4 user and the convenience of a city hatchback. Its clear to see why they have become so popular in todays society.
