Apparently its a revlimiter issue. The boost seems to have over ridden the limiter and caused it to rev sky high

          oops...

at least there is boost potential there :D

Ceasing production and sales is a stark contrast to a manufacturer who continued to produce and sell hundreds of V8 powered cars while denying that they had serious oil consumption and engine rattle issues that everyone knew about.

How can TRD be a 3rd party supplier when they are Toyota?

                      derr.....

the TRD in Aus is just a logo... like Sportivo... nothing to do with TRD in japan.
none of the parts used will be from TRD in Nagoya... since there isn't an Aurion in japan

My understanding is the supercharger IS a TRD part that is also offered by TRD in other markets, USA being one of them. Granted the application is unique to Australia.

I'm interested in knowing why you say this? Do you deny a corporation denied there was a number of issues with their newest V8 engine in the late 1990s? The design they orginally had engineered so everything was single use only. The same engine then strangely had field service parts made available even though there wasn't anything wrong with the engine?
The TRD Aurion issue could simply be marketing wanted the car released before engineering had finished, wouldn't be the first time that's happened. At least Toyota have admitted it and taken steps to ensure the problem is fixed.

For the record I should add that I worked for the corporation with the V8 issue in 2000 as a dealer warranty manager.

Because as usual it has absolutely nothing to do with this thread.

The supercharger is Harrop supplied and developed. Some comments on the LS1 board from a Harrop rep ... supercharger itself was not behind the engine failure (as determined by Toyota's investigation)
