put that $ into a skyline and yeah sure itll be great BUT itll be a copy of banjongs skyline down the road...... ITS BEEN DONE!!!
exactly, you can hook up with the tuning shops in japan to build a turnkey skyline to whatever level you want.
you can buy race porsche off showroom floor...
you can buy rex STI or EVO9
just so you can be another guy with a skyline or porsche or whatever
for some people it's the process, not the end product, otherwise why would anyone bother with falcons or commondores, or corollas or toranas or or.... cosreally, they are a shit base to start with
I love it. Fuck the cost etc, what would be better etc. It's individual, should be a laugh to drive and most importantly, it is what the owner wants to do.

I think that's his point edo. You say they're shit to drive but they're still cool because it's such a fucking silly idea. The same is probably true for this 147.
Im not sying it wont be better than a standard skyline.
What I am saying is if its costing $300k to build this Alfa with datto bits then a $300k R34GTR will be a better thing. All the money spent re-engineering the chassis & lining up suspension & building brackets & firewalls & floorpans in the Alfa can be spent on better engine, transmission, suspension & brakes in the GTR.
Sure, he could put those better bits in the Alfa but then its a $400k car & you can do more again with the R34.
You just cant get away from the fact that he is doing stuff that simply doesnt need to be done because the factory has already done it
You are of course right, but what a boring place the world would be if everybody did that. Nobody would build sports sedans, hillclimb specials, race historic cars or any of the interesting things that people go to motorsport events to see.
