Given we have no idea how big the fucking rock was where did you get the idea it was 5 to 10 kg mate ??

Do you know what kind of strength would be required to hurl that any real distance ?? I highly doubt any jury could be convinced the bloke deliberately aimed a rock at someone's head...

And yeah, of course the kid didn't expect (or deserve i suppose) to end up in intensive care, but fuck, if some bastard egged me i'd be tempted to throw whatever i had handy back at their car - a rock, tennis ball, garden hose nozzle, whatever...

yeah, fair enough, im thinking more along the lines of people throwing rocks into traffic on the freeway (and yes, my estimate is way high, written with more passion than thought)


but anything that ends up giving someone serious brain damage as in this case has to be of a decent size surely, we have to be talking atleast say a brick, or 1/2 a brick

a golf ball thrown with enough force that hits someone on the temple could cause brain damage/even kill them.

Back in my younger days, we used to drive around and just shout random abuse out of the car for giggles. Mind you never threw stuff, just yell out stuff, all in fun.

One night the guys walking along responded by throwing the first thing they could grab.. which was a brick. Missed the car by inches. You think he gave a shit for what the threw? No. He was angry at being abused by a car full of kids, he retorted with the first available item.
