Might not be...don't discount Mitsu's ability to take what is a good idea in theory and bugger it up in practice.

WTF is that hatchback shit? That's as bad as the new Impreza. Although the front does indeed still look better

They could do this through their dealer network with no effort at all. They'd just have to continue their practice of treating buyers like crap, never returning sales enquiry 'phone calls, flat-out lying, cars not being available for a pre-booked test-drive, etc etc.
All they'd have to do is make sure no potential buyer had a chance to get pricing or get a test-drive, and that could have a strong effect.
Soft roaders represent an excellent compromise between the needs of the hardcore 4x4 user and the convenience of a city hatchback. Its clear to see why they have become so popular in todays society.

Forg - we all know you'd buy an RS Liberty before any sort of Mitsubishi.

Nah their dealers are really that bad. The three in the Canberra region are outright useless...

DVG used cars (mitsi dealership) in Wanneroo did this to me a couple of weeks ago. Even when you treat them like human beings, they still fuck you over.

They then had the gall to lie to me about chasing down some imaginary vehicles that they had in the "holding yard". Fuck you chippy, you're shit at your job, and I'm surprised that you can look at yourself in the mirror.

Not that I'm bitter or anything.

                Back on topic..

I think that Mitsi will have a window of opportunity to capitalise on the ralliart lancer. Once it's been out for 4-6 months, all the fooly sik crew will be into them, and the market will be as polarised towards them as to the WRX.

                Alex.

i have no doubt in my mind they will mis-handle this one to varying degrees

                    Agreed.

I'm not to keen on the rear of it, but the front looks good other than the blacked out bits in the middle (I really hate this on all the new cars it's on). I'd have one over a WRX.

It was actually a MrBishi dealer that had me buy the Liberty! I'd only driven a Lancer GSR & a KFII TX3 before driving a private-sale VR4; so the VR4 felt both quick & well-made (for a MrBishi - admittedly the minor controls sucked). It was a bit dodgy, but by chance I saw a VR4 parked near the back of the used lot in the local MrBishi dealer, so I stopped in & asked about it. Wasn't for sale, but it was the DP's car & a new Verada was being delivered for him during the week; so it'd be up soon. It was going to be about what I wanted to pay, and was in good nick, so I'd have bought it - if it were the price they said it'd be. Left my card. Never heard back.
2 weekends later an RS came up for sale, and the seller was a bit desperate so she dropped the price $4k - and suddenly it was VR4 & KH TX3 money. And it was a quantum step up over than everything else I'd driven. On the way to picking it up, I saw the VR4 had been detailed & was up for sale - $1k less than they'd told me it would be, probably wouldn't even have haggled 'em for it, and it wouldn't have sat on the lot for 2 months like it did ...

And that's a good MrBishi dealer, by comparison. I know people who've actually managed to cut through all the barriers & buy new cars off them!

More 900 ... the styling's more dynamic than any 9000, it's leaning forward & ready to go.

The hacth version of the Ralliart makes it look almost as bad as the Rex IMHO. Sedan FTW.
