          From wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alfa_Romeo_155

The 1996 version had 2.5 litre 90° V6 engine pushing out 490 PS (483 hp/360 kW) at 11,900 rpm, it had top speed of around 300 kilometres per hour (190 mph) and the car weighted 1,060 kilograms (2,300 lb).
I must admit though, the mid 90's DTM's were downright sexy (downloading the
'92 review atm). I dont think they rev'd past 12 though (I know the Mercedes was around the low 11's at peak). Still bloody impressive for touring cars.

The only local Mercedes touring car runner I can think of is Phil Ward, and he wasn't exactly the cream of the crop in the 2 litre days.

So they're sending the CLK 63 around the track fast too? That could be interesting.

It' be pretty cool to see the DTM car go around.

So how would one go about getting an invite to this? Reckon a letter to MB pleading nicely would work?

go down to a merc dealer, put a $500 deposit down on a clk63, get your invite, when the car comes in, in around a year tell them you think its gay and you dont want it anymore

Rumour is they are supplying the pace cars for the FOSC event too.
A slow day at the track is better than any day in the office.

Mercedes Benz Australia are supporting the Festival of Sports Cars on the weekend (expensive to hire Bathurst)

Will get plenty of photos from the 4 drive days, it is for the launch of the CLK 63 Black Edition and AMG drive days
