Errr, Not at all true. It could be anything from 4 degrees & pouring with rain to 28 degrees & really dry...or even both.

Fucking softcocks. Go stand at Wakefield in the middle of June (close to 0 degrees overnight) and tell me Melbourne is cold. I've been to the Melb GP for the last 8 years, very rarely have I needed any sort of jacket unless it's raining.

How much will it cost to light the whole track well enough for F1 cars?

$38m.... that's a lot of hospital beds, or fixed leaky school roofs.

Not a fucking chance- what would be the point of a night race if you put lights in? You would get someone killed and the television footage would be shite.

Remember who is paying for it all- advertisers who put their signs on the side of cars. Light generally reflects off these signs and is captured by cameras and then transmitted to houses around the world. How does the pitch black race work?

muz, they have the technology...oh & I think vic taxpayers are supposed to pay for the lights.

I guess then all those tossers could play golf at night too

I have been told the lighting system would not just be used for Melb, but the MotoGP would also use the same lighting system in there night race as well and other series etc so it will be a portable track lighting system used all over the place... How much truth was in what I got told, who knows...

Also didn't a Aussie company do some testing at Calder not too long ago as well for this lighting system with a few drivers like Webber??? I think it was hella (tho the name escapes me atm so it is a guess) who was coming up with the design which was meant to be the bees knees of street lights or some shit...
