As for the cops this arvo, the US secretary of defence flew into town. So avoid Russell for the next couple of days, I already had a run in with the Ambassador's security detail the other day.

Well RAPID ain't doing that, I went past the Fairbairn one with a barely attached muffler (so essentially open 2.75" pipe) and a nasty headache from the noise in the car and while the cops around it gave me the evil eye (deservedly) but nothing else happened.

Last I heard they canned it. Too hard to pinpoint which vehicle was making the noise.

Oh yeah, I would rather have a truck use it's exhaust brakes then cook it's service brakes, since it's usually older trucks with the loud exhaust brakes and dodgy drum brakes. Sirens responding to a truck crash are REALLY fucking annoying.
