    What sort of modelling?

If there are no turning vanes inside those bends, then the flow will be horribly biased to the outside of the bend and I could improve the distribution.

Ok...why dont you do it & build a better one?

You could be very very sure that it'd be a better manifold with straight runners.

Go straight, Edo, you know you want to.

P.S. you suck at teh photos.

You're a right pain in the arse edo. All I said was that I had reservations about the quality of the flow in that inlet runner design. Than you go and do your whole song and fucking dance routine about "well he/we/she are the fucking legends of motor building" and "well, it costs a billion $$ to build so we must be fucking legends" and "why don't you build one if you're so fucking clever?". Let me point outthat I am perfectly willing to say that there is no doubt that Simon and co know a lot more than I do about building engines. Engines. Let me also point out that aerodynamic modelling is my business. It's what I do. So whilst I have no interest in building one of these engines, if your supergenius level guys at Nizpro wanted to hire a consultant to do any real flow modelling for them, then there are people out there who do know a fuck of a lot more about it than they do.

I ask again. What sort of modelling did they do?

              I try

No idea what modelling they do, I just saw all sorts of pics inside & outside on the computer & they ran some thing...fuck, I rebuild office buildings & shopping centres & lease them...

Anyway, the first ones were straight & then the bloke (who had the computer with all the pics & shit, who doesnt work for them so probably does some stuff like you) who designed the runners & had something to do with the nightmare of plumbing that is the exhaust/turbo contraption design too decided that this curve did something with regards to the way it went into the head. Fucked if I know, I only heard half, it was way over my head but there was some reason for it.
There is a cover going over the engine so maybe it was better to put the curve in rather than shorten them.

I can help you with property development if you want.

If you wanted to keep the runners that length, they would still need to bend. The minimum bend required would be a lot less though.

Is there any advantage to weaving the runners from one bank between those from the other bank?
(So they are reasonably straight from the front view, but slightly bent from the top view)

                    Alex.
