I was wondering if you guys were doing anything yesterday. Obviously you were. Its a nice smooth graph which is really good, especially for a carb car. Shows what a tuner that knows what he is doing can do.

Peak power is just under 6,000rpm. Something is restricting power going any higher in the revs, either the cams are too small for the bigger capacity or the stock exhaust manifold is crap. Nothing will be changed at this point in time, just want to finish off the little bits and have some fun! (assuming it doesn't nuke itself with nitrous...)

well if you have your 2S license i could use a nav for the rallysprint of the hills on the 21st June if you want to come up to hampton.

i think that will be the next event i manage to get to now.

James, give me a week or so to work out the timing, it may be possible, I just need to make sure my will and funeral arrangements are in place beforehand :D

Muz, 900kg with the cage and circuit safety gear, 50-60kg less in drag trim. Got a plan to take more weight out if it but it won't happen for a while yet.

Spent the night on the dyno sorting out the nitrous jetting, couldn't go as much as we wanted as it was bloody cold and I don't have a heater for the nitrous yet. Bottle pressure was very low so we had to stay on the conservative side of the mixture knowing that we will have another 200psi in the bottle when it is ready. The good part is nothing broke!

All of the carb tuning is now finished, nitrous will be fine tuned after I get the heater in and working. I'm bloody happy with the way it has turned out especially given the amount of weird crap that had to be sorted. Cold starts are now bloody easy, hot starts even easier. Idle is god and it is very eager to rev. The last five power runs over a 3 day period were all within 0.7hp of each other, I don't think it could realistically be any more consistent.

That stuff really is cheating isn't it? The amount of time, money and effort you would have to go through to get anything like that power increase any other way....

It's cheating and I like it The way the power curve and sound changes when it comes on is something I could get very used to. Can't wait to get it fully sorted and running more gas.

and the power/ton figure so i've got something to beat

That place you went to sounds pretty good, they managed to diagnose it all pretty successfully. I should take the Skyline there when we're ready

Would definetly recomend you take the Skyline there. A friend came along tonight to see how it was going, he hadn't seen the car since before it went there and was impressed with the difference. His comments started when the car started without any hassle which is a lot different to the way it was!

I didn't get a decent nitrous run on video, but you can tell the sound difference if ou listen to one of the other runs and then this one:
