The good thing with Perth is, if they ever did create a toll road, no one would use it as it would be too easy to bypass it. The tunnel was supposed to be a toll, but they realised people would just use other roads.

Yeah no dramas. Just a bit of a cnut during peak hour but you can defnitely do it no tolls.

Come to think of it, why aren't we paying a toll on the ANZAC Bridge? I want one there too now, it just doesn't feel the same travelling for free.

        Quick question guys,

I always wonder why the toll machines dont accept 5c coins and why the M7 and other roads you have to have a Etag?
I thought all money is legal tender and you have to accept it including all coins
Same with the M7 it should have a toll booth as well to accept cash/coins because it is legal tender.

I thought it is the law for businesses to have to accept cash/coins in Australia.

Probably get around it through terms of use or similar perhaps???

I hate booths though, etags for the win. It's not the 80's.

Actually, the etag has a more nefarious side to it, if you think about it. Since it removes the physical act of paying by forking out cash, it makes it a lot easier to sneak up tolls/add unecessary charges...

And encourages in a way "impulse buying" just like a credit card does. You pay for it later not there on the spot and dont need cash, ie less likely to take the non toll route and think "I dont think I will save $8 in petrol by taking the motorway"

Not saying it is bad, I have an etag, but that would be another nefarious side.

                ne·far·i·ous
                –adjective
extremely wicked or villainous; iniquitous: a nefarious plot.

Another one to add to my vocabulary.
