The good thing with Perth is, if they ever did create a toll road, no one would use it as it would be too easy to bypass it. The tunnel was supposed to be a toll, but they realised people would just use other roads.Originally posted by Mr PurpleWow. Quick question guys,
I always wonder why the toll machines dont accept 5c coins and why the M7 and other roads you have to have a Etag?
I thought all money is legal tender and you have to accept it including all coins
Same with the M7 it should have a toll booth as well to accept cash/coins because it is legal tender.
I thought it is the law for businesses to have to accept cash/coins in Australia.

Actually, the etag has a more nefarious side to it, if you think about it. Since it removes the physical act of paying by forking out cash, it makes it a lot easier to sneak up tolls/add unecessary charges...Originally posted by JabberWocky View PostProbably get around it through terms of use or similar perhaps???
I hate booths though, etags for the win. It's not the 80's.Originally posted by klampykixxas an example, an elephant pushes over a tree to eat the fresh leaves at the top, but a human isnt allowed to build a machine that makes a car so he can drive around to places quicker?

And encourages in a way "impulse buying" just like a credit card does. You pay for it later not there on the spot and dont need cash, ie less likely to take the non toll route and think "I dont think I will save $8 in petrol by taking the motorway"Originally posted by peter_vod69 View PostActually, the etag has a more nefarious side to it, if you think about it. Not saying it is bad, I have an etag, but that would be another nefarious side.
