That looks like what's left of tint film adhesive when you clean it off with brake cleaner...

Bingo.

It's old adhesive which has seeped down to the bottom edge of the window then dropped down to the drainage holes underneath the door. They use a glue remover and all it does is turn the adhesive into elephant jizz... if they don't scrape it all off/wipe it off then it ends up seeping down the cavity in the door and comes out some time later.

Update on this.

My Foz went ~1 month back, nothing wrong with it just the kms were starting to get a little high for the amount I do and I could foresee some exxy things coming up this year on it (if I continued my 25-30k kms pa). And I wanted to cut back costs a little.

So for the last month I have been driving a mate's EF Falcon (on gas of course!). Fun, fun! I love the diff whine, reminds me of being pissed in the back of a taxi all the time.

Anyways.. Should be getting my new (08) Polo GTI later this week. I drove a flashed one and I was hooked! For ~$10 per week more on a lease I could get a new one Vs. a used one. Costly little thing to buy as I got a few options, but weekly works out ~$45-50 better and will do the job I want it to!

I bought a Ralliart COlt about 3 weeks ago, ex Mitsubishi Fleet car, traded to my dealership. 5,500km's, 12/07 compliance...

Been pretty happy with it so far. even with the boost turned up a fair bit still gets reasonable fuel economy. apparently they're tuned pretty rich standard.

no more useful information to add right now, no warranty issues yet!!!!

Mines just clocked up 20 000km.

Nothing major has gone wrong, had a noisy ball joint that got replaced.
Interior is still together, a few minor rattles and squeaks but nothing massive taht comes to mine.

Clutches seem to have a bit of an issue, mine makes a bit of a hum when pulling away and its a bit warm. Some others have had them replaced on warranty etc.

Keep in mind the new ones are quite different from the previous model - they skimped on a lot of equipment and made it softer and dropped RRP by 5k.

jizz, i got a pretty good deal on mine because it was through work (mistu dealer)... and being an ex-mitsu car they didnt trade it for much either.

tim, i was wondering about the clutch graunchy-type noise... here's a test next time you drive it... try pootling around a car park at idle in first... tell me if the noise comes and goes when you give it some steering input... mine did that the other day after a bit of a fang, sounded like the same noise as when taking off...

I'm thinking about getting one of these things to get to/from work in. Seems there are a few Polo GTI owners around the place so a few qs

1. How do they go in reliability?
2. What are servicing costs like
2. What sort of times to they run with the 150kW reflash? The thought of a gay little car with 200+hp makes me laugh so I'd be keen to do this
