I drove the colt this morning.
Didn't mind it. Not hugely quick, but not boring. Interior is pretty coltish but seats are good
Seems fairly rigid and responsive though in the suspension and steering.
They wanted 24k on the road for a demo, which is too much based on what else is out there. Fairly negotiable because they want it gone though.
Oh yeah the reason im looking is that at the moment we have 2 cars, skyline and integra. This year both have not been driven at the same time so it makes sense that the girl can have a girly car to drive to work which is good on fue l and not totally boring. I think the r33 has gone 600km since jan so its a waste paying 2x insurance/rego etc.
Edit again: Might have to look at nundah mitsubishi then was that a limited time or already finished deal or what? A few on carsales for 23.5 drive away.POWER CHIP free since 2003.

They're not much fun though.Originally posted by jizzmonkey View Post~1100kg hatch + 110kw turbo motor = the funs
the price is great at $26k, i wouldn't have even looked at the colt at $30k.
i've had big discounts on new cars before (>$15k off) but never a 40% discount on a $30k car.
Have you driven the XR4 (I've never driven an XR4 but I reckon the standard Fiestas are good fun) or Renault Clio Sport? Either are a lot more fun I reckon, and the price would be comparable.

Fiesta XR4 RRP$24,990 0-100km/h 7.9Originally posted by Mr Purple View PostWhat's there to understand?
They're cheap, have a stock 8 second 0-100 time (try that in anything else at $26k), and are decent quality. Chipped, they have much fastness.

They'd surely be $18k-with-10-year-warranty-fun though. If I want anything more in future I'll look at tuning it (there are a few getting around with 250hp on the standard turbo), failing that I'll buy an EvoOriginally posted by tremolo View PostThey're not much fun though.

They just released a Version-R Special over in Japan, basically stiffer body and suspension work for better handling, reduced body rolling.
For some giggles they aimed to clock 1:10 at Tsukuba, they did so in 1:09.93s. Can't beat cheap thrills
but unfortunately only JDM release.

This is for the normal version ralliart....Originally posted by Evo_Lee View PostThey just released a Version-R Special over in Japan, basically stiffer body and suspension work for better handling, reduced body rolling.HOw much stiffer could they make it???Partly responsible for that handling is the much stiffer than standard body. Incredibly, the Colt body has been given a real engineering work-over – and not just with bolt-ons. There are 50 per cent more spot welds than normal; reinforcement has been added to the D pillar; some body panels are thicker than standard; and additional reinforcements are strategically placed. This adds 60kg to body mass (total is 1130kg) but body rigidity is up by 30 per cent. In fact, Mitsubishi state (and they should know!) that in terms of torsional rigidity, the Ralliart Colt is the stiffest Mitsubishi made – better, even, than the Evo Lancer.

rj, what you know is what I know.
They still have the normal one call Ralliart Colt Version-R, the new limited run version has the "Special" at the end of name.
Think I read it somewhere as saying 10% stiffer.
I mean no one is going to get excited over it, but if you could buy a stiffer version I guess why not. They said they cheated a bit, the one that ran Tsukuba also had an LSD fitted.
Edit, you already mentioned 30%.F20C Kouki AE86
