I have a GT40 replica pencilled in as a mid life crisis car, if I can't afford a new Ferrari/Porsche.

I want to buy myself the kit for my 40th birthday and then spend 5 years building it

Somewhat realistic dream car is a 993 turbo, although I'll probably end up compromising and getting a 996 GT3. Still a few years off as there are one or two cars I'd like to own in the mean time.

i think a 993 carrera or a 996 gt3 is as about as "porschey dak dak" as one can get without the 'troubles' associated with a 'classic' porsche

i mean those green 3.0 911s and the 2.7 rsr porsches look the business but do they drive the business?

Well, yeah, me too, but I'm not going to be able to afford a 997 GT3 any time soon.

@T0nyGTSt: A '73 2.7 Carerra RS is reputed to be one of the greatest Porsche driving experiences ever. Pity a genuine RHD would cost more than most modern 911's.

A "Chooklotto" would be my first dream purchase....there are not too many around and knowing Barry Locke the former F1 Designer behind them....It would be a nice 'toy' to have.

                    Haha.. MSL/George.

I've had many a dream car over the years as I always change my mind (usually more than my undies).

Luckily, I've managed to own a few examples of those "dream cars".

I started with a nice enough '76 Capella (4cyl ) because I loved the look of the RX2. (Not mine)

Then, once I managed to prang that and bend it's chassis, I had my sights set on a S2 RX7. Instead, I ended up with an 82 KE70 sedan. I bought it because it was virtually rust free, decent interior and it was orange. (Not mine)

After a year, I finally found an S2 RX7 which I traded the 'rolla in for. (Not mine)

The RX7's engine died on me after six months, damn I was pissed off. I dragged it around with me for a couple of years as I wasn't able to afford to fix the engine. I ended up swapping it for a running, decent condition XC 500 sedan. I've always liked the XA/B/C thanks to this:

Because it was as close I could get to this:

After the Falcon I went back to a few Corollas and gained a love of the *E7* panelvans. I've now had two, still have one of them:

I also found out about the Century and instantly fell in love with them and managed to pick up my own example:

After all this, in one way or another I consider the cars I've had to be dream cars.

Although, my all-time Dream Car is one of these:

too many to list and hard to say.

I would be satisfied with a few from each country. Definitely say an F40 LM would have to be right up there though. It's the car ever child of my era pictured in their mind when they heard the words 'supercar'

Wasn't there only two or three of those made? And only one known one left in existance?

Well, yes... but I'd happily take a normal 2000GT, I just liked that picture :D
