what is the point of this w427 test?

fark it was piss poor. i wanted them to explain the MRC suspension, and the driveline changes aside from the engine. all we learned was that is have a 7 litre engine and a shit aerial.

I'd have to agree. They didnt even laugh or cringe when they bumped cars. Obviously they thought it was cool pointlessly damaging cars.

I thought the show was very dry of jokes. Infact, the funniest part was in the 2st segment when the cartoonist suggested he should make acup of tea a tthe end, to which the previously UBER quiet abbo said, "you gotta be useful for something" or something to that effect. I genuienly lol'd.

Although the 427 segment was cool. That car is seriously horn looking. Very hot.

i dont mind the show at all now. the hands and feet off at 160 was entertaining, as was taking out the post with it. i'm surprised it was quicker than the m3 around the track too.

I don't mind the aus one, but Top Gear UK at least go into the cars in a little detail, before blowing it off in an amusing way and fucking around in the car.

Even though the W427 doesn't impress me at all it still made me cringe when he slid into that wooden pole.

tguk always relate their ramblings back to the cars tho, they always divulge an opinion. Tgau is shit in that respect, the w427 drive was not a review at all. All that wanker did was drive around the bowl with no hands, get sideways with all the skill of a 17yo in his dads commodore on the dirt and do a couple of donuts on wet Tarmac. There was no point to any of it.

Was the thing worth 150k? Is it that much better than a gts? Etc

I laughed twice during that eposide. Admittedly I only saw the last 15 minutes...

1) at them fucking the front bumper (and several other panels) of every Astra on hand. Clearly no Holden reps on hand... badly designed ramps ftl.

2) at the preview of next week's episode with the "Toorak Tractor" on Chapel St - though 2 seconds of footage is enough to make the joke, I doubt I will laugh when they play the episode. Unless they try to reverse park it on top of someone's BMW or Ferrari on said street...

The antennas fitted to the domestic vehicles tend to do this but how many times do you think one of these cars would hit 250km/h.

The ve/wm vehicles sent to the middle east and G8's where they tend to travel at higher speeds have a different antenna that doesn't suffer from this issue.

so why didn't they put that antenna on the 427? a 2 second job and then they wouldn't have looked silly and had a bit of shit hung on them by the show....

Yeah I almost came to the same conclusion after that ep. The news was painful to watch. The the way that wanker pronounces "what were they thinking" reminds me of a derolict nancy-boy type.

I might start taping this on FoxtelIQ so I have the FFW ability.

look at ANY James May review of a car... tell me you didn't learn something about a subject car

some particular aspect or some feel about a car

remember his Jaguar XF review? the UK guys have the ability to impart something about the cars they test... eg. even someone like Tom Ford (who doesn't have a huge motor background) can do a good review

look at his review of the Dodge Challenger
