Looking at the crap stacked in the front passenger footwells (spare wheel etc) of those Astras I'd hazard a guess and say they were bought out here for evaluation tests pre release and are destined for the crusher. Company would have written them off at $1 value. May as well get some extra use out of them before they get cubed.

i know this is supposed to be a light entertainment show appealing to the massed audience idiot but that thing where they slagged off the Sultan of Brunei's Ferrari 456 wagon for no apparent reason other than to get a few cheap laughs tends to show you what kind of low they are trying to hitOriginally posted by boxxx

exactly. i like it, it's a feat of engineering. they were paying out on the handling, and they've never driven it.Originally posted by T0nyGTSt View Posti know this is supposed to be a light entertainment show appealing to the massed audience idiot but that thing where they slagged off the Sultan of Brunei's Ferrari 456 wagon for no apparent reason other than to get a few cheap laughs tends to show you what kind of low they are trying to hit
half the stuff on that board doesn't deserve it. they should all be up there.

I agree... A Ferrari shooting brake is a great idea. Aston Martin did some DB6 ones and I think I've seen photos of a 928 as well. Great for making the car more usable, although the original idea (for the DB6's anyway) was so that David Brown and his mates could go shooting and take their guns and dogs in an AstonOriginally posted by T0nyGTSt View Posti know this is supposed to be a light entertainment show appealing to the massed audience idiot but that thing where they slagged off the Sultan of Brunei's Ferrari 456 wagon for no apparent reason other than to get a few cheap laughs tends to show you what kind of low they are trying to hitWWPBD

Yeah exactly. If you have enough money to go to Ferrari/Pininfarina and get them to MAKE you a ferrari wagon, that's not "What were they thinking?", it's "Holy fuck that is the coolest thing I've ever seen". I mean it's a Ferrari... WAGON!Originally posted by CXTdreamer View PostI agree... A Ferrari shooting brake is a great idea. In relation to the antenae, most euro cars wouldn't have the reception of an Aus developed car which is important when you think of the distance between radio transmission station across Australia. Still it really shouldn't be that hard to make it work at 250+ and it really is a standout example of Holden and Ford Australias lack of attention to detail

The vehicles sent to Korea have a shark fin, they are much more expensive then a standard antenna so why fit them to ever car when only a small handfull will ever hit 250km/h.Originally posted by T0nyGTSt View Postyeah i wonder about a $150k car that hasn't heard of a shark fin or antenna integrated into the windscreen like the $50k euros and japs out there
Maybe this is something that HSV should have considered, but I doubt they are going to get many complaints from the 427 vehicles they plan to build, most will never see 250km/h and sadly others will not see a road.B&N Performance Engineering - 4Bangers & Mash Racing

how long before we see that golfer's BMW M5 ute on that 'what were they thinking' wall?
the thing about TG UK or 5th Gear is that there were very rarely instances like this were i was kinda rolling my eyes at the kind of low they were trying to hit
i don't think i ever thought "this is contrived to appeal to a moron who really isn't into cars"
but i feel this all the time watching TG AUOriginally posted by boxxx

It's just an example of how the local offerings lack that 'final polish' on the small things. Important to some, not to others.Originally posted by RESON8 View PostThe vehicles sent to Korea have a shark fin, they are much more expensive then a standard antenna so why fit them to ever car when only a small handfull will ever hit 250km/h.

You do realise that under a certain percentage of damage they can legally repair it and sell it as a new car?
Fuck buying a new car that could of already been in a small bingle.Originally posted by MarvShe most likely doesn't bathe, thinks basket-weaving should be in the Olympics and has a vagina that looks like Dumbledore's beard.
