I did get a laugh at the WWTT wall (as insipid as it is - they seem to have read the same Tony Davis "Lemon!" books I have) at the Warren quote
"In the automotive universe there's planet Earth where we all live, and then there's France"
Turns out, far too much has been written about great men and not nearly enough about morons

Yeah I thought that was pretty good.

Anyone catch the first episode of that Swift and Shift Couriers righr after? That was piss funny!

That Swift and Shift had me laughing at some bits, then completely bored at others. Will watch it again next week to see if it gets better

did you see the way he handled the gearstick of the R8? he was hardly gentle.

the thing that really works for me out of TG UK is that they can all actually drive... and the occasional review they do of the older cars like the section james did on the maserati bora, and the lambo. and the fact that all three of the UK guys are TV presenters and can drive a bit (and have a sense of humour)

the australian guys just look fake.

peter wherrett, alan jones and eric bana should be the presenters... considering they've all done similar things before.

it seems to me that they are very heavily script bound

the UK guys might adhere to a script but it's THEIR script

the AU guys sound like they've been given something to say and they doubt the crap they've been told to recite

It was shit I thought.. the 135 test. No info on suspension or brakes, seats, straight performance against its bigger brother... and not enough driving I thought..

What more did most people need to know? Its a twin turbo six in a little car that probably should have clawfeet at the corners and some brass taps at one end, it handles really well, it keeps its bigger, more ostentatious brother very honest, and represents all that was right about the original M3 formula, a formula that the current car has gone away from.

What more did we need to see? The driving stuff seemed decent to me.

i think they would lose people if they went on and on about technical details

No. TGUK will often find some tiny little technical detail to bang on and on about. And it will be funny. And they will leave it alone for a while and then come back and bang on about it again. And it is funny again. The TGAU blokes haven't managed that.

I can't believe the lack of technical info. TGUK isn't perfect in that regard either but common... what do they take us all for? A bunch of morons who like staring at pretty colours and tyre smoke? :D

When does TG UK ever go into what brakes, suspension and seats a car uses? Usually it's Clarkson saying something like "this is a perfectly good commuter", then says something about how the lack of rear mirror may be an issue and then goes sideways for 5 minutes while yelling power. Yeah, really technical!

PS: Before people get on my case. I love TG. It just seems like you want TG AU to be different to TG UK while still being the same...

I never complained TG UK doesnt, I'm talking about TGAU. Too much fluff I thought.

                                ummm

i still remember Clarkson describing EXACTLY how the Mercedes TC system works with an open diff car

it's still correct and applies to all electronic TC systems

Clarkson also loves his three link live axled mustangs
