what's involved in getting it rego/engineered/trailer number stamped, it would have to be built to some kind of standard, yes?

No standard- Just need to comply with all the RTA bullshit regarding lights, safety chains and prove the spring & axle GVM.

When I built mine it got knocked back on the font size on the compliance plate. I had it professionally engraved but it was 7 mm high not 8mm and he knocked it back and I had to get it re-done.

But regarding welds etc they dont check a thing.

              Weres the brakes!?!

What you plan to tow. I once lost the brakes on a car trailer with only a little galant on the back, was very much a brown moment!

                Ok here goes,

1 - it has leccy brakes on the front axle. cable is handbrake. i don't care who's reality your accept.

2 - i'll be on the coast for new years. i'm sure we can work something out.

3 - i'll build the door next weekend i'm working Danny.

4 - milk crates are the best invention eva. the bloke who made them would be a squilionair if he sold them in bunnings for $10.

5 - looking at about 3 good days work. all up costing around 3k compared to 5k for a bought one.

                6 - the RX7 wasn't this simple

7 - will post up a list when it's all finished. had to keep a full portfolio for my uni submission.

                8 - looking around the 500kg mark i hope.

                9 - no you can't borrow it ............

                10 - it's not your car jamie. it won't brake !!!

11 - for sale for 5k with 12 months rego. free delivery to sydney.

12 - holes have been fixed

13 - RTA guidelines. not standards. weighbridge ticket then blue slip ( In NSW )

i'll get some more pics up tomorrow night when the fold down ramps are fitted and it has a coat of paint on it.

                cheers

Awesome job, very similar to my trailer which was also home built. Good stuff

Make sure the bolts are done up tight on the suspension unlike the corona!

I can see it now, instead of finding Corona bolts on the trailer it will be

"WTF - I'm sure there were 2 axles when I left..." :knock:

                      More pics!!

                      cheers

still going. just finishing the second ramp then i'll hit it all with some kill rust on the welds and will be fitting lights and painting tomorrow.

also have to double check some regs. actually i gotta first check some to

nothing like last minute checks to get the blood flowing !!!!

Years ago helped old mate and his old mate build some boat trailers and it was a great experience, not top 10 but good noneless.

car is on and it didn't fall appart.

                            WOOO HOOOOOOO

it has a bit of flex at the back because of the overhang. and a flat tyre i'll have to wait till daylight tomorrow to balance the trailer and then set about welding in the tie down points. so far i have spend about 24 hours on it. and i reckon i'll be at it all day tomorrow.

i know why places build with put away ramps. fold up ones are a total headfuck !!!!

i'll go pack up then add some photo's !!!

i'll probably have a few more beers so the next post may not make sence.....

a mate reckons flex is good, as they feel their way along the road better, no idea if this is something you want or not though.
