Difference in the tyres is the shoulder and contact patch.
I went with the WRX spec 050's which have a very flat profile.
The Honda spec have a very round shoulder with less of a contact patch. Tread pattern is the same.
Cost $239 a tyre which is not too bad. All up $1011 with a wheel alignment. And got a $50 Visa card to boot.
Car now seems to sit flatter on the road. Road noise has reduced and grip has increased. Managed to cock the inside rear with some spirited carpark antics..
Was not happy with the Conti 1's which were OE on the Focus. Pushing it hard into a corner would see massive under steer and see the traction control kick in early. In short, just no grip.
