        Well I had a look at my remote control and says SMART LOCK.. so that rules out it being the later update key right?

        I could do the 2 key thing but the whole reason I am doing this is because I only have 1 key

        Might have to go to Ford!

              The key from Mr Minit turned in door and ignition but nothing happened... would not open or start...

              I checked the compliance plates and it defo says 12/99....

              And my remote door opener defo says SMART LOCK ... unless it is a smart shield system using a smart lock remote??

              Would it help if I posted a pic of my key??

                Thats a bit weird.

                If the transponder isnt programmed or correct, the motor should still turn over and fire, it will just stop within a second. If you turn the key in the ignition and it doesnt even rotate, you have the wrong key for sure. Same thing with the door locks.
